1930 Wheat Penny

minted to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. The coin is a part of US coinage history and is still sought after by collectors. The Lincoln penny is an iconic piece of US coinage history. That much is perfectly exemplified by the fact that part of its design is still in use today. For collectors, the 1930 Lincoln is just one of many that must be added to any competent collection. As time moves forward, these coins will only become increasingly sought after due to their increasing scarcity.

On the most well-preserved Lincoln pennies, his likeness still features fine details, including the contours of his cheekbones and texture of his hair. On the one side of Lincoln is a raised “Liberty” inscription, while the 1917 year of minting is off to the opposite side. Arching overtop of the President’s head is the phrase “In God We Trust.
